The Glens manager steps down after 3-2 defeat to Annagh United

Alan Kernaghan has resigned as Glentoran manager.  He quit after last night's shock 3-2 defeat in the League Cup away to Championship strugglers Annagh United.

Fans had vented their fury after the final whistle, with numerous supporters calling for Kernaghan to go.

Kernaghan's final interview as Glens boss was with Q Radio sport:

The 49-year-old stepped down just before midnight after less than a year in charge at the Oval.  

Glentoran Director of Football Roy Coyle will take temporary charge of the team.

The club are due to make a final statement at a later date.
