Linfield have crashed out of the Irish Cup in one of the biggest upsets in the history of the competition.

The reigning league champions lost 2-1 on Saturday to Queen's University, a mid-table team in the second tier of local football.

The game was played at The Dub sports complex in south Belfast in front of a restricted crowd of 350.

Queen's have been handed another home draw in the sixth round - against the other half of the Big Two, Glentoran.

The Glens were on the verge of a shock early exit themselves, but managed to come back twice to draw 2-2 with Portadown at the Oval after extra-time and eventually went through 5-4 on penalties.

It was the day Premiership sides entered the cup, and the other top teams taking on lower division opposition made it safely through.

Cliftonville beat Hanover 6-0 and Larne were the top scorers, with an 8-0 victory over Belfast Celtic.

Meanwhile, Coleraine had a 2-0 win at Glenavon in an all-Premiership clash.

Full results and draw below with reaction from Queen's and the Glens below that.
