Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is inviting expressions of interest from groups or organisations within the community and voluntary sectors under the PEACE IV Cross Border and Cross Community Youth Sports programme.
The programme will focus on bringing together young people who may not normally mix or socialise together, or even play sports together.
In order to do this, an inclusive youth initiative will be delivered, supported by Leisure, Recreation and Sports PEACE IV Coaches and involving minority sports that engage young people in sporting activities which they enjoy; while forming positive relationships.
It's been determined that at least 12 youth minority groups should be established or supported in the District in sports which are not traditionally played in the Fermanagh and Omagh area and where a recognised sports club does not currently exist.
The delivery team will endeavour to achieve as equitable spread across the District Council area as possible.
The selection of groups or organisations to establish or support a Youth Minority Sports Group will be based on their submission of 'Expression of Interest'.
These will be subject to an assessment and the 12 groups or organisations deemed most suitable will go forward provided they pass the minimum eligibility threshold.
Expression of Interest form and guidance notes can be downloaded from the council website or are linked below:
To coincide, the Council intends to facilitate a number of workshops to provide support to groups and organisations interested in completing a form.
Dates and Venues will be advertised in advance.
Completed forms should be returned no later than 12 noon on Tuesday 30 November 2017.
They should be in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the outside 'PEACE IV Youth Sports Programme' to:
