This years Festival Lough Erne will be going ahead on a reduced budget in September.

It's an annual event that highlights areas of food and water activities.

At a recent meeting it was revealed in a report that Fermanagh and Omagh District Council was unable to secure funding from Tourism NI.

The report outlined how Tourism NI informed Council officers that their events sponsorship scheme in 2017, had a "considerably reduced" budget.

However, they received a Letter of Offer for £1,100 from Waterways Ireland for the water activity elements of the festival.

While no suitable alternative funder was identified, the report stated that the council had made provision of £15,000 for the 2017 Lough Erne.
