Local mums will be taking to the streets of Omagh this Saturday to take part in the 28th annual Half Marathon.

They will be running on behalf of a local charity 'Support 2gether'.

Support 2gether work with mothers and their families who suffer from post-natal depression.

Two sisters, Una and Brenda from Co. Tyrone started the charity to try and help these mothers recover from the illness, while educing people on how to deal with it and realise that it's more common than most people think.

They offer regular sessions to those who need the services and help them to overcome obstacles and let their voices be heard.

Support 2gether aim to educate people out there and let other mother's know that they're not alone in their battle with post-natal depression.

Q Radio spoke to Claire Moxon who is one of the mother's running in the Half Marathon this weekend.

She said that without the help of Una and Brenda at Support 2gether, she wouldn't have been able to recover from the illness.

Claire openly revealed what it's like living with post-natal depression after the birth of her first child and how it affected her day to day life.

By running in the Omagh Half Marathon, Claire said she hopes it encourages other mums out there who suffer in silence, to come forward.

She felt at the time of her battle with post-natal depression, she couldn't talk about it.

Almost 1 hundred other mums, dads and children will be running in the Omagh Half Marathon with Claire, on behalf of Support 2gether.

You can listen to Claire's full interview with Q Radio about post-natal depression and the marathon in the link at the bottom of the page.

On the first of April, "The only fool this year is post-natal depression".

In support of the charity, buildings in Enniskillen and Omagh will be lit up Pink.
