Members of the public are invited by the Western Trust to attend free 'Stress Control' weekly classes beginning today (Tuesday 12th September).
The Stress Control sessions are designed for people who want to help control common problems such as:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Panic
- Poor sleep
- Burnout
- Loss of confidence or low self esteem
These sessions will teach people to 'become their own therapist' and participants will be encouraged to work hard at practicing the skills they learn.
The Western Trust says:
"Each session builds together like pieces of a jigsaw to enable people to deal with their individual difficulties.
"The sessions are classes and not 'group therapy' so you will not have to talk about your problems in front of others."
Although it's preferable to start at Session one, you can join the sessions at anytime and everyone is welcome, regardless of age.
Booklets, relaxation CDs and general information leaflets will also be provided.
There is also no referral system for anyone who wants to attend the meetings, it's a personal choice and people can come and go as they need.
Sessions will be running from 6.30pm-8.00pm in the Tara Centre on Campsie Road, Omagh, every Tuesday until the 17th October.
