Sinn Fein's leaders will meet with the Taoiseach later after declaring the latest round of powersharing talks over.

On Monday, Sinn Fein said the current phase of discussions with the DUP had reached an end.

Michelle O'Neill urged both the British and Irish Governments to together, hold a conference on what the parties disagree on.

Today - she and Gerry Adams will be part of a delegation taking that request to Dublin.

They'll meet with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Irish Foreign Minister, Simon Coveney.

It comes as legislation for a Northern Ireland budget has been moving through Westminster.

Commenting ahead of the meeting in Dublin Michelle O’Neill said:

“Following the failure of the latest phase of talks, there is now a responsibility on the two governments to address the issues of rights which are at the heart of the crisis.

“The way forward is for the two governments, as co-guarantors of the Good Friday and St Andrews Agreements, to honour outstanding commitments, and to deliver rights enjoyed by everyone else on these islands to citizens in the North.

“They should ensure a meeting of the British-Irish intergovernmental conference takes place as soon as possible to begin mapping a way forward for the implementation of outstanding agreements and guaranteeing the rights of citizens.

“This would pave the way for the Executive to be restored.”
