Detectives in Omagh are investigating a report of an armed robbery at commercial premises on the Dromore Road in the town last night, Sunday, 10th December.

Inspector Keith Hicks said:

“At approximately 7:15pm last night a male, brandishing what is believed to have been a hammer, entered the premises and demanded a staff member hand over money.

"The suspect, who wore a grey tracksuit, grey hoody, black gloves and had a scarf covering his face, then made off with a sum of money.

"No one was injured during the incident.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the Dromore Road area last night, at around 7:15pm, and saw any suspicious activity or who knows anything about this incident to contact Detectives at Omagh Criminal Investigation Branch on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1249 of 10/12/17.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
