Detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch are continuing to investigate the attempted murder of an 83 year old woman in Aughnacloy on Tuesday, 23 January.

Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell said:

“The investigation is ongoing into this horrific incident and we are continuing to follow a number of lines of enquiry connected to the attempted murder and the three other burglaries in the Aughnacloy, Ballygawley and Seskinore areas, which we believed are linked.

“A silver Ford Focus car, with false registration 06 WX 6313 which we initially thought was connected to the burglary has now been eliminated from the investigation.

“We will continue to investigate this appalling incident and I would appeal to anyone who has any information about the burglaries to contact detectives in Dungannon.

"We have set up an incident room in Dungannon to deal with any information.

"Please call 101 extension 53135 quoting reference 1218 of 23/01/18. Alternatively, information can also be provided about the incidents to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
