A west Belfast man says he and his wife are being forced to leave their home of 30 years after another attack at their property on New Year's Eve.

George Richmond (below) has asked those who smashed the windows of his home on Dermot Hill Parade to come forward and explain why. He believes dissident republicans are responsible with the perpetrator reportedly dressed in a Santa suit.

It happened at around 8pm.

The home of their daughter Georgina also came under attack this week at her apartment in west Belfast.

It happened in the Upper Springfield Road area of the city shortly after 1:50am on New Year's morning.

Shots were fired at the front of the property, but no one was inside at the time.

Detective Sergeant Moffett, “Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious at both areas to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 231 1/1/19.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
