Today marks the 13th European Remembrance Day for Victims of Terrorism.

Dianne Dodds MEP has invited the Omagh Support and Self Help group to join her in attending a commemoration in Brussels.

The European Commemoration gives people the opportunity to remember those who have been lost to the actions of terrorism across Europe.

It allows victims to come together at the European Parliament and share their stories with representatives and legislators.

For countries outside Northern Ireland, light will be shed on the recent, high profile attacks by Islamic extremists in Brussels, Paris, London and Madrid among others.

However, for those from Northern Ireland, victims of conflict throughout 'The Troubles' will be remembered and commemorated.

The Omagh bomb in particular will be significant for the self help group invited to the remembrance day.

They've been recognised for the work they do in supporting those bereaved or affected by the traumatic Omagh bombing that happened in 1998.
