Recarson Primary School in Omagh have received a funding boost to improve its outdoor learning space.

They were awarded almost 9,500 pounds from the 'Big Lottery Funding', through their 'Awards for All' application; 'Lets get Growing Project'.

The Arvalee based school are also currently undergoing a £475,000 renovation scheme to create two new classrooms and improve the building's infrastructure.

The extra money will now be used to develop the school's new gardening project, that will develop outdoor education and ensure maximum use of the school's facilities.

They will also buy new iPad's to use an interactive learning source for students.

To get the gardening project underway, the school is partnering with a local gardener and play facilitator.  They'll be incorporating nature and the outdoors into the children's learning, while also creating opportunities for the children's families to get involved and create a love of the outdoors.
