Police in Omagh are urging all shopkeepers and their staff to be alert for theives.
They're investigating two incidents of distraction theft at commercial premises in the town.
In the first incident, two women described as being of Eastern European appearance, entered a supermarket on the Dromore road at around 4pm.
They asked the staff member for change from the till for a number of large denomination notes.
The change was given however the women then asked for her original notes back and handed the smaller notes to the member of staff.
It was later discovered that not all of the money was handed back and the women made off with the sum of money.
In the second incident, two women matching the same description entered a shop in the Great Northern Retail Park, shortly after 4pm.
One of the women distracted a member of staff by asking for change.
Meanwhile the other woman made off with a large bag of goods.
Superintendent Jane Humphries said:
"One of the women was described as having a swarthy complexion with dark hair whilst the second had light brown hair.
Both were said to be aged in their 30's and wore long dresses.
The women are believed to be travelling in a grey coloured Audi A6 car with a southern registration plates."
Superintendent Humphries went on to say:
"I would ask shopkeepers to exercise caution at all times and I would also appeal to anyone with information which could assist us with our enquiries to contact officers in Omagh on 101 quoting reference number 829 16/05/17.
