Omagh burglary probed by detectives

Detectives are continuing to investigate an aggravated burglary in Omagh.

It happened at a house in the Tattysallagh Road area last Wednesday (30th November) at around 11am.

A woman and her son were approached by a man dressed as a postman, carrying a suspected firearm.

They were forced inside at gunpoint.

Two other men then arrived. They demanded money.

The woman and her son were then tied up and locked in a hotpress.

Neither was injured as a result of the incident but both were left badly shaken. The men made off with a sum of money.

One of the suspects is in his thirties, tanned, with black stubble and dark eyes with dark bushy eyebrows.

He wearing a Royal Mail jacket, blue trousers, a black hat and black gloves.

The second is believed to be in forties, around 5’6” tall, of stocky build. He was wearing a black ski jacket, black work trousers, a balaclava, a hat and gloves.

The third man is also in his forties, around 5’6” tall, of stocky build. He too was wearing black trousers, a jacket, balaclava, hat and gloves.

Detective Inspector Trevor Stevenson has appealed for anyone who has noticed any suspicious activity in the Tattysallagh Road area recently or who has any information about this incident to contact detectives in Omagh.
