A man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s have been injured after three masked men broke into their home in east Belfast.
The gang, armed with a hammer, smashed items during the raid at My Lady's Road around 7pm on Saturday.
The men demanded money but fled empty-handed.
Detective Sergeant McCartan said:
“It was reported just before 7.10pm that a short time earlier, three masked man entered the property and demanded money from the occupants.

"One of the men was armed with a hammer. A number of items were smashed before the men left the property empty-handed, travelling on foot in the direction of Ravenhill Road.
"A man, aged in his 80s, and a woman, aged in her 70s, who were in the property at the time both sustained minor injuries during the altercation.
"The suspects are described as wearing dark clothing with gloves and are believed to be approximately 5'11 to 6'2 tall.
"They were also described as being of medium to large build.
“Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing, and we would appeal to anyone with any information, or who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed any suspicious activity, to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 1491 of 12/03/22.”
