Neighbours of Concepta Leonard hold fundraiser for Womens Aid

'The Road Crew' in Maguiresbridge have come together to organise a fundraiser for Women's Aid. 

The crew is a group of neighbours from the village and also friends of Concepta Leonard. 

Concepta, also known as Connie was tragically killed earlier this year by her ex-partner Peadair Phair. 

Her son Conor was also injured in the attack. 

This attack on Connie has motivated 'The Road Crew' to do something in support of women who are victims of domestic abuse - which is where 'Who Dares Wins' came from. 

Debbie Armstrong, a member of The Road Crew and one of the organisers, says the idea of it is to challenge people and do something they wouldn't normally do and remind them that nothing is as challenging as living with domestic abuse: 

Kerrie Flood of Womens Aid in Fermanagh, says that any funds made from the fundraiser will be used to help local women. 

The money is vital at the minute as the organisation has had to make cuts to their services: 

A special event will be held in the Enniskillen Hotel on the 16th of September where some people will complete their challenges.
