Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA, Jemma Dolan will meet with the Permanent Secretary of Health, Richard Pengelly today to discuss suicide prevention services in Fermanagh.

She says she's planning to make a case for de-escalation services in the county and exploring ways that these might be introduced, after an increase in suicides in the area around the Christmas period.

Although there are Community Mental Health Services, they're "extremely stretched" according to the MLA:

Meanwhile, in addition to this meeting, the Public Health Agency (PHA) will be holding a consultation event for the future of a suicide prevention strategy in Fermanagh.

This event will take place Thursday 19th March at Fermanagh House.

Jemma Dolan, MLA is encouraging everyone to register and take part to ensure enough is done for adequate services in the future locally:

The following PHA meetings will be taking place in the Western Trust area:

Silverbirch Hotel, 5 Gortin Road, Omagh, 21 March, 10.30am - 12.30pm

St Columb’s Park House, 4 Limavady Road, Derry/ Londonderry, 21 March 7pm - 9pm

Fermanagh House,  Broadmeadow Place, Enniskillen, 29 March 10.30am-12.30pm

Registration is necessary for the PHA meetings and can be done by emailing carrie.crossan@hscni.net
