A man has died following a two-vehicle collision in Ballycastle on the Cushendall Road at about 3pm yesterday.

Police say the collision involved a Kawasaki motorbike and Cherokee Jeep.

The victim, who was traveling, on the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cushendall Road was closed for a time on Wednesday, but it has since re-opened.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured it on their dashcam, is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference number 1217 of 02/06/21.

Local councillor Cara McShane says it's another tragic loss of life on the north coast.

She said: "Too many people have lost their lives, particularly too many motorcyclists on this coast road. Our thoughts and prayers are with all involved in this tragic, tragic, accident."
