Late night opening of Enniskillen public toilets is proving too costly

In a recent council report from Fermanagh and Omagh, the late opening of public toilets in Enniskillen is proving too costly.

Council officers have recommended pulling the plug on the proposal, following the recent trial period.

They're struggling to justify keeping them open at night on the basis of cost, health and safety and and a number of vandalism attacks in such a short space of time.

Officials estimated that the long term extended opening of the facilities at Eden Street, in Enniskillen and similar public conveniences at Kevlin Avenue in Omagh, would run an additional cost of £30,500.

The toilets in Eden Street Enniskillen were initially trialled for later opening times to support the local 'night time economy' as they are situated close to central bars and restaurants in the town.

However, its understood that top continue this proposal, it wouldn't be cost effective.
