The PSNI has confirmed human remains have been found in a car recovered from Lough Erne in the Corradillar area of Co Fermanagh earlier this week.

The discovery of the vehicle was made as part of searches for 54-year-old Michael 'Tony' Lynch.

The father-of-four was last seen across the border in Clones in January, 2002.

The discovery of the car came after members of the public uncovered what gardai described as an anomaly in the water on Monday.

These men were aware of the gardai renewed an appeal for information regarding the location of Mr Lynch's car earlier this year.

The men contacted officers at Clones garda station.
