Former Newry head schoolteacher to stand trial accused of historic child sex offences

A former headteacher from St Colman's Abbey Primary in Newry will stand trial accused of historic sex offences against 9 boys.

Christian Brother Paul Dunleavy has appeared before Belfast Magistrates to face 41 charges across a decade between the 1960s and 70s.

The 82-year-old from Dublin's Griffith Avenue faces offences including indecent assault and gross indecency towards a child.

It's been confirmed he'll stand trial at a Crown Court - but the date hasn't been set.
