Fermanagh and District Council is calling for special status in the North, following Brexit.
It was discussed at last weeks monthly council meeting.
They've decided to write to the European Commission and the Taoiseach to make the demand.
Sinn Fein councillor Anthony Feely proposed the move, causing a debate and heated exchanges with rival unionist parties.
While not everyone agreed on the motion, the decision was taken on a majority vote of 20 to 13.
