Family of murdered army bomb expert returns to Newtownbutler 40 years later

The family of an army bomb disposal expert have returned to the scene of his murder 40 years later.

Sergeant Martin Eamon Walsh was serving with the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.

He was attempting to dismantle a suspect device in a milk churn in Newtownbutler when the bomb exploded.

Martin’s brothers, Mike and Sean laid a wreath at the scene.

The South East Fermanagh Foundation organised the visit.
