Residents in Enniskillen have the opportunity to have their say on the forthcoming Enniskillen Public Realm Scheme today.

Initial 'drop in' consultation events will be taking place in the Townhall until 4pm and from 5pm to 8pm in Fermanagh House, Enniskillen.

£5.2 million has been made available by the Department for Communities and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council to improve and develop Enniskillen’s public realm to include footpaths, street lighting, landscaping and street furniture.

These initial public drop-in sessions will give members of the public the chance to share their ideas and general views and opinions on the potential opportunities for the scheme with the Integrated Consultancy Team (ICT).

They have the responsibility for bringing the public realm scheme through all stages from start to finish, with Doran Consultancy Ltd appointed as the Project Manager of the ICT.

Anyone with an interest in the scheme is encouraged to take the opportunity to call in to one of the drop-in sessions and share their ideas.

The drop-in sessions are the first in a series of events and opportunities for members of the public to find out more and to share their thoughts on the Enniskillen Public Realm scheme. Further events to consider the preferred design option will be scheduled in the New Year.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has also established a Project Steering Group - chaired by Councillor Debbie.

It also comprises of other Enniskillen District Electoral Area (DEA) Councillors; Keith Elliott, Robert Irvine, Tommy Maguire, Patricia Rogers and Howard Thornton.

Six representatives of the local business community are involved aslso; Roci Allen, Joe Kelly, Nuala Lilley, Noelle McAloon, Jonathan Poots and Jonathan Styles - which will work with the ICT to help bring the project forward.

The Council appreciates the willingness of these business representatives to participate in the Steering Group and would also wish to acknowledge the wider support from their nominating organisations - Enniskillen BID and Enniskillen Business Partnership.
