Fermanagh and Omagh District Council in partnership with Omagh Churches’ Forum are hosting a special “In Conversation” event.

It will feature the Church of Ireland Bishop of Derry and Raphoe, Right Reverend Dr Ken Good and the Roman Catholic Bishop of Derry, Most Reverend Dr Donal McKeown in the Tara Centre, Omagh, commencing at 7.00pm this evening.

The unique evening, 'Stepping Out in Faith: two Bishops in conversation about their shared work and witness in the North West' , is taking place as part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

Ken Good has been the Church of Ireland Bishop of Derry & Raphoe since 2002, whilst Donal McKeown was appointed Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Derry in 2014.

A spokesperson for the council said, "The two men have developed a close personal friendship, and through their leadership and witness have sought to promote understanding and co-operation, especially in aspects of church and community life that call for a united approach.

"In recent months the Bishops shared in a series of pilgrimage walks around different parts of the Diocese to highlight their shared Christian witness and heritage."

The event is open to everyone, and is free to attend.

After listening to the Bishops chat with each other about their personal experiences of working together, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and develop the conversation further.
