Commemoration booklet for Tyrone County Hospital launched

The Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust) has launched a commemoration booklet today at the new Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex, to recognise the immense contribution the Tyrone County Hospital has made to the community over the past 120 years.

'Tyrone County Hospital - Through the Years' booklet has been compiled not only as an historical reflection but also as an enduring tribute to the dedicated staff who have delivered quality and compassionate care and treatment to the populations of both County Tyrone and parts of County Fermanagh.

Speaking at the booklet launch, Western Trust Chief Executive, Dr Anne Kilgallen said:

“I am honoured today to officially launch this wonderful booklet which is the culmination of meticulous research and contributions from former and current staff who worked at the Tyrone County Hospital over the past decades.

"I would like to thank the Tyrone County Hospital Commemoration Committee who have worked tirelessly to make this happen, ensuring that the local community have a lasting legacy of healthcare provided in Omagh through the years.

“This is a special day for many of our former and current staff to come together in this beautiful new facility to acknowledge and commemorate the history of healthcare provided at the Tyrone County Hospital for thousands of patients in the Omagh area and beyond.

“Our staff are committed to ensuring that the ethos of the Tyrone County Hospital will continue at the Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex and we look forward to caring and treating patients and their families for generations to come.”
