The theme for this year’s event, ‘Celebrate Together’, will see Omagh come alive with colour, music and dance as the St Patrick’s Day carnival parade weaves through the town centre from 1.30 pm.

A Shared Music Traditions programme of entertainment will take place on the OASIS Plaza from 12 pm to 4 pm to include, music, song, dance and storytelling.

Arts and craft activities will take place in Omagh Community House where families can get creative and experience cultures from around the world.

The Children’s Art Exhibition featuring works by children from local primary schools on the theme of ‘The Story of St Patrick’, will be on display in Strule Arts Centre.

Speaking at the launch of the event, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Chairman Councillor Stephen McCann said

“St Patrick’s Day is celebrated all over the world on 17 March.  We all know family and friends who have settled in different countries and now due to technological advances, we are all able to keep connected in real time.

"This year’s theme ‘Celebrate Together’ is very fitting whether you are in Omagh, Fermanagh, America, Australia or anywhere in the world, we can all share our St Patricks Day experiences. I hope to see many of you in Omagh on Saturday 17 March but wherever you are let’s Celebrate Together’.
