Over 40 local schools may close if planned strikes go ahead, affecting schools across Tyrone and Mid Ulster.

It's in relation to a disagreement over pay.

Teachers have rejected the offer of a 1 per cent pay rise for this year.

The strikes are set to be held on the 31st of January.

The Education Spokesperson for the UUP, Sandra Overend, said the issue has been dragging on for far too long.
