DUP Assemblyman Lord Morrow has expressed anger at the legal aid spent on the man accused in connection with the murder of David Black.

The Cookstown prison officer was gunned down on his way to work in November 2012.

Now it’s been revealed that the missing accused - Ardboe man Damien McLaughlin’s legal aid bill now stands at around £79,000.

Lord Morrow has called it “a scandalous indictment of the justice system.”

He expects the eventual bill to run in excess of £100,000.
