This week the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) finally received a visit from Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.

After years of campaigning, the first ever Helicopter Emergency Medical Service was approved in November last year.

In preparation to become fully operational, they visited both SWAH and Altnagelvin Hospitals for test landing.

The primary helicopter will be kept at the Maze/Long Kesh site in Antrim.

Meanwhile, St.Angelo's Airport in Enniskillen will be home to the secondary helicopter.
