10 more covid-19 related deaths in NI and 342 new cases

A further 10 people have died in Northern Ireland after contracting covid-19 according to the Department of Health has said.

Six of the deaths occurred in the last 24 hours.

The death toll recorded by the department now stands at 933.

There were also 342 positive cases of the virus recorded since yesterday. 

A total of 49,784 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began.

Meanwhile, there are currently 425 people in hospital with coronavirus in Northern Ireland.

40 are being treated in ICU, 28 of whom are on ventilators. 

There are 29 unoccupied ICU beds in Northern Ireland. 

Meanwhile, the highest daily change has occurred in Belfast where 77 people have tested positive since yesterday.

36 cases were confirmed in Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon and 33 in Lisburn and Castlereagh.
