Saturday's fixtures in the Danske Bank Premiership saw big Belfast derby victories for Glentoran and Linfield.

The Glens recorded their first league win in 10 years against Crusaders at Seaview, thanks to Hrvoje Plum's late free-kick.

It was also 1-0 for the Blues at home to league leaders Cliftonville - a header from Jordan Stewart clinched the points.

Carrick Rangers beat 10-man Ballymena 1-0 at the Showgrounds - a second win of the season for Stuart King against his old Linfield boss David Jeffrey.

And in Mid-Ulster - Dungannon defeated Portadown 4-2 at Stangmore Park and Glenavon won 3-0 away to basement club Warrenpoint Town.

Here's more on that hoodoo-breaking win for the Glens on the Shore Road:

Hrvoje Plum grabbed the winner as Glentoran defeated Crusaders at Seaview to stretch their unbeaten Danske Bank Premiership run to eight games.

Bagging his first goal of the season, the Croatian struck on 78 minutes with a trademark free-kick from just outside the area which lew past Jonny Tuffey into the corner of the net.

The Crues created the first effort of note inside the opening ten minutes when Paul Heatley fired over after being put through by Johnny McMurray, with another chance following soon after only for Aaron McCarey to get the better of him one-on-one.

For the Glens Conor McMenamin came closest with an effort across goal which Tuffey did well to stop.

After the break Ben Kennedy cut inside to test McCarey while Tuffey was again called into action to deal with a McMenamin effort.

Glentoran came within a whisker of breaking the deadlock on 71 minutes when McMenamin cut the ball back for Robbie McDaid to drive an effort against the crossbar.

At the other end Adam Lecky came close to finding a way through with a header just past an upright from a Billy Joe Burns delivery but minutes later Plum struck for the Glens for what proved to be the winner.

Crusaders: Tuffey, Burns, Wilson, Kennedy, Lecky, Caddell, Forsythe, O’Rourke, Heatley, Robinson, McMurray subs O’Neill, Hegarty, Weir, Lowry, Frazer, Owens, Clarke

Glentoran: McCarey, Burns, Marshall, J. Donnelly, McDaid, McClean, Clucas, Crowe, Marron, McMenamin, Plum subs Garrett, Bigirimana, McCartan, R. Donnelly, Smith, Cushnie, Glendinning

STEWART STRIKE ENOUGH FOR LINFIELD

Linfield put an end to their recent downturn in form with victory over leaders Cliftonville at Windsor Park.

Christy Manzinga might have opened the scoring with just over ten minutes on the clock when he burst through on goal after Cliftonville had surrender possession but with only Declan Dunne to beat he lifted his left-foot shot over the crossbar.

The Blues came close again midway through the first half after Kirk Millar and Jamie Mulgrew combined for the latter to send a low drive goalbound that was blocked before being cleared.

Then, not long after that, Jimmy Callacher came even closer with a thumping header against the crossbar, again from a Millar delivery.

Cliftonville's first effort of note came just before the half-hour mark but Jonny Addis' close range header from a Levi Ives cross was directed over.

What proved to be Linfield's winner came five minutes after the break. A great cross from left by Ahmed Salam was met by Jordan Stewart who got into a bit of space to guide a header past Dunne and into the net.

It took until the 84th minute for Cliftonville to muster a goal threatening response but, from Chris Curran's cross, Paul O'Neill could only head past the far post from close range.

Linfield: Johns, Roscoe, Shields, Callacher, Millar, Hume, Manzinga, Stewart, M. Clarke, Mulgrew, Salam subs Walsh, Newberry, Fallon, Donnelly, A. Clarke, Marshall, Green

Cliftonville: Dunne, McDermott, Ives, C. Curran, R. Curran, McDonagh, Lowe, Donnelly, Addis, Gormley, Turner subs McNicholas, O’Neill, Foster, Casey, Coates, Kearns, Morgan
