Shield semi-final postponed after pitch inspection at Ballymena Showgrounds

Tuesday night's scheduled Toals County Antrim Shield semi-final between Ballymena and Linfield has been postponed for a second time after a pitch inspection.

The Showgrounds venue was also waterlogged at the weekend, leading to the Sky Blues' league game against Institute being postponed.

Linfield's match at Newry was also called off on Saturday. 

Tuesday's last four tie would have been a battle of the leading teams in the Irish League.

Ballymena top the Danske Bank Premiership table with Linfield two points behind in second place. 

The sides are also set for a showdown in the final of the BetMcLean League Cup on Saturday February 16th at Windsor Park.

They've met twice in the league this season and have one win each - both games finishing in a 2-1 victory for the home side.

United are now unbeaten in 16 games in all competitions and have won their last 11, a club record.
