A woman has been elected head of a local football association for the first time.

Cheryl Lamont is the new president of the County Antrim FA.

The former Glentoran player and manager had been vice-president for the past two years.

She was appointed to the UEFA Women's Football Committee last year.

After an international break for most teams, the Danske Bank Women's Premiership has a full programme of three games on Wednesday night.

Leaders by three points Sion Swifts go to Cliftonville.

Second face third at the Oval with Glentoran against Belfast rivals Crusaders.

Fourth-placed Linfield are off to the Brandywell to take on bottom club Derry City.
