Tourism could be key to boosting Derry's economy, according to Martina Anderson.
The MEP was one of a delegation from the city who met visiting US Ambassador Matthew Barzun yesterday.
Ms Anderson said:
"We walked on the city's iconic Peace Bridge and walls and then visited the Museum of Free Derry at its temporary home as well as the site of the new museum, which is currently under construction with the help of EU funds.
"Derry's history is known across the world and more and more visitors are coming to the city to learn about our past, helping drive our economy in the process.”
I'm impressed by the Silicon Valley vibe at Ebrington Barracks. A knowledge economy is being built here in N.I's northwest. pic.twitter.com/YMx4Sf3M3s

Known for his work on US President Barack Obama's campaign trail, the Ambassador is currently touring the UK.
Mr Barzun visited Ebrington Square and the Peace Bridge before meeting the Mayor at the Guildhall.
Fantastic location at the Guild Hall for my meeting with Mayor McClintock - the Maiden City's transatlantic ties are impressive. pic.twitter.com/qeoBgRWYif
