Two teenagers have been injured during an aggravated burglary in Belfast.

A number of men gained entry to a property in the Inishowen Drive area at around 11.30pm on Thursday.

An 18-year-old man and a woman, also 18, were treated for injuries which were not life threatening.

Nothing was taken from the property during the incident.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said: “Shortly after 11:30pm, it was reported that a number of men gained entry into a property in the area. A man and woman both aged 18 years old who were inside the property were assaulted.

"Both received treatment for their injuries which were not believed to be life threatening. It is believed that nothing was taken from the property following the incident.

“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and we would appeal and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1487  13/11/20."
