Two due in court following discovery of 'blast bomb' in Armagh

Two people are due in court in Newry later charged in connection with the discovery of viable 'blast bomb' in County Armagh.

The device was found during a security alert in the Woodview Park area of Tandragee on Saturday.

The suspects, a 21 year old man and a 20 year old woman, are both charged with explosives offences.

A PSNI statement said:

"A 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man have been charged to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court ". 

"The man has been charged with making explosives under suspicious circumstances, and possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances. "

"The woman has been charged with offences including possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances. "

"As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service. "

"The charges are in relation to a security alert in Woodview Park in Tandragee on Saturday 30th November where a viable blast bomb type device was discovered. "
