Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry-Londonderry

by Stewart Robson

People with non-urgent illnesses or injuries are being asked to seek other medical services as Altnagelvin Hospital deals with a high volume of patients.

The Western Health and Social Care Trust issued a post on Facebook earlier today.

It said: "Our Emergency Department at Altnagelvin Hospital is very busy today, so please only visit if it is an emergency.
Staff are working extremely hard to prioritise the most urgent patients.

Those with less serious conditions will have to wait longer to be seen.

Please consider other sources of health care, such as your local Pharmacist or GP. For more information on what other health care services are available please visit http://bit.ly/2hLgpa9."
