Parents in Strabane are being urged to check apps on their children's phones to protect them from online predators.

It comes after local MLA, Michaela Boyle was notified of ongoing grooming, through apps such as Instagram, Snapchat and Houseparty.

The Sinn Féin representative posted on social media to warn people about the issue.

She says, "Children are very vulnerable to these online predators- PLEASE PLEASE be vigilant of these apps and keep a check on everything! You cannot be too careful!"
