Northern Ireland football manager Michael O'Neill has been charged with drink driving in Scotland
Local media says the Northern Ireland boss was pulled over in the outskirts of Edinburgh, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Scottish Sun then alleges the Ballymena man failed a breathalyser test.
Police in Edinburgh say they "arrested and charged a 48-year old man in connection with drink driving eastbound on the A720 at around 12.55am on Sunday, 10th September."
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on 10th October, two days after Northern Ireland's World Cup Qualifier against Germany.
O'Neill's led Northern Ireland to unprecedented success in recent years.
The side reached the last 16 of their first ever European Championship last year - and are now in a good chance of qualifying for the next World Cup following a 2-0 win over the Czech Republic.
In a statement the Irish Football Association says it is 'aware if an alleged drink-driving incident involving Michael O'Neill.'
The IFA added it will not be commenting further as 'it is a police matter'.
