Man released as police continue investigations into sudden death in Armagh

A 49-year-old man arrested in connection with the sudden death of a man in Armagh at the weekend, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. 

Police found a man laying on the ground in the Ballynahone Close area at around 10.20pm on Saturday night, while responding to reports of an altercation. 

Despite efforts of emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Meanwhile, investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the death. 

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed some form of altercation. 

A post mortem examination will take place in due course to determine the cause of death.

Detective Chief Inspector Michelle Shaw said: “Anyone with information is asked to call our detectives on 101 quoting reference 2554 of 11/04/20. 

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
