A 37-year-old man has appeared before Newry Magistrates' Court in relation to terrorism charges after being extradited from the Republic of Ireland this morning.
The man originally appeared in the same court on Monday 24th October 2016, charged with belonging to or professing to belong to a proscribed organisation, conspiracy to possess explosives with intent to endanger life, preparation of terrorist acts and receiving training or instruction in the making or use of weapons for terrorism.
The charges followed the arrests of a number of men in the Ardcarn Park area of Newry on Monday 10th November 2014.
He was released on bail at a later date to live at an approved address in the Republic of Ireland.
However, an application for extradition was lodged by the PSNI, after the man was prosecuted in the Republic of Ireland for offences committed whilst living at the bail address.
He was remanded at court today and is due to appear again on Wednesday 9th October.
