A major search has been underway from 11 am this morning for a man missing of the coast of County Donegal.

It's understood that the man, aged in his 50's and thought to be from Derry, was camping on the Isle of Doagh but hasn't been seen since Monday.

The alarm was raised by members of the public at around 6.20pm yesterday evening after his car was spotted close to the Famine Village.

The discovery prompted both land and sea searches around the Isle of Doagh and Trawbreaga Bay

Lifeboats from Lough Swilly, Greencastle coastguard and the Sligo 118 helicopter are all involved in the search, as well as locals and officers from An Garda Síochána.
