We're being warned potentially lethal drugs are circulating Northern Ireland.

They're made to look like the prescription substance 'Xanax.'

Elisha Mc Callion's told Q Radio it's left some people in hospital.

The Foyle MP said:

“The Drugs and Alcohol Monitoring and Information Service (DAMIS) have released information about the circulation of potentially lethal drugs which are made in an attempt to look like the prescription drug ‘Xanax’.

“While prescription drug addiction is a problem across our society, this new threat adds another potentially lethal dimension to the problem.

"I am aware of several cases of citizens in Derry being hospitalised as a result of the spread of these life-endangering drugs.

“I am calling one everyone to remain cautious and vigilant in the face of this problem, and to share any information they may have with the relevant legal and drug authorities.”
