Detectives are investigating six burglaries in south Armagh in just one night.

Homes in Crossmaglen and Kileavy were targeted between 7pm and 10pm yesterday evening.

The PSNI says thieves got into the properties while no-one was inside and stole jewellery and other valuables.

Detective Sergeant Bell said: "A total of six burglaries were reported in the space of just a few hours on Saturday night, 29 September. Four of the properties were on Father McFadden Terrace in Crossmaglen, while another in St Monina Park and a sixth on the Drumintee Road in Killeavy were also targeted.

"In each case it appears as though the thieves entered the homes while they were unoccupied and stole jewellery and other valuables.

"I am appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have captured dashcam footage in the area between 7pm and 10pm on Saturday night to please get in touch by calling 101.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
