A County Armagh man who died in a road crash would have turned 85 on Thursday, police have said.
Sidney McIldoon, 84, from Portadown, died after the crash between his vehicle and a tractor on the Cornascriebe Road, between Tandragee and Hamiltonsbawn on Tuesday.
A female passenger, in her 80s, remained in hospital in a critical condition on Wednesday.
Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and has dash-cam footage to contact the PSNI’s collision investigation unit on 101 quoting reference number 909 of 13/02/24.
The Orange Order’s Grand Master Edward Stevenson paid tribute to Mr McIldoon. Mr McIldoon had previously been Grand Lecturer.
Posting on the institution’s Facebook page, he described Mr McIldoon as a “loyal and true friend and a great champion of the orange cause”.
“He leaves a huge legacy, following a life of selfless service to the orange institution,” he added.
