The manager of Arsenal Football Club has penned an emotional letter to the family of Jack Glenn.
The 23 year old has been missing since entering the River Foyle over three weeks ago.
In a letter to Jack’s mother, Hester, Arsene Wenger wrote that it was with “great sadness” they had heard his story.
“Although I did not have the privilege of knowing Jack personally, I am aware that he enthusiastically followed the fortunes of his team, and for this we are extremely grateful,” he continued.
“I know that words mean so little at times such as these, but I do wish you to know that our thoughts are with you and this very sad and difficult time.”
Thousands of people have joined Jack’s family in searching the river and surrounding banks since he entered the river at the beginning of February.
Speaking to Q Radio earlier this month, Jack's father, Colin said the tragedy has united the city:
The search for Jack will continue today with low-tide searches planned for 12.30pm with groups moving off from the base of the Foyle Bridge.
