Man charged following spate of robberies in Belfast

A 27-year-old man has been charged following a number of robberies in Belfast. 

Shops on the Ormeau Road were targeted on the 16th and 19th of February. 

An aggravated burglary was also reported on Dehli Street yesterday. 

The suspect will appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday February 21 accused of a number of offences including robbery and aggravated burglary

A PSNI spokesperson previously said: "Detectives investigating a number of incidents in south Belfast this week have made an arrest.

"The 27-year-old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of  offences, including two counts of robbery and one count aggravated burglary.   

"The charges are in relation to reports of robberies at shops on the Ormeau Road on the 16th and 19th of February, and the report of an aggravated burglary on Dehli Street yesterday.

"The man remains in custody assisting police with enquiries."

Detective Sergeant O’ Flaherty added: “Anyone with any information about these incidents or who may be able to help with our investigation, is asked to call us on the non-emergency number 101, or submit a report online."
