Foyleside and the Moor Neighbourhood Policing Team officers attended a regular meeting organised by Sinn Féin's Councillor Mickey Cooper, with Strand Road residents to discuss anti-social driving.
Previous meetings have also been arranged to deal with the issue.
A PSNI spokesperson says the incidents have reduced since extra measures to tackle the problem were taken:
"Police and Mr Cooper were very pleased to hear that the residents felt that incidents had reduced.
"Police have been speaking to the young drivers and explaining to them that excess noise, illegal vehicle modifications and excess speed will not be tolerated.
"Police have also been taking a zero tolerance aproach to detected driving offences and will continue to do so.
"A new cctv camera on Strand Road will help us in this respect and any driver continuing to cause alarm and distress to residents runs the risk of having their car seized."
