Plans to build 169 new homes in Derry – Londonderry have been given the go-ahead by Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Planning Committee.
Three separate applications were made by the same developer for units in the H24 land zone between Tullyally and Currynierin, in the city’s Waterside area.
The homes will be mainly detached and semi-detached with a new access route off the Tullyally road.
Open spaces and a play area have also been included in plans for the area.
The first 53 developments will be built closest to Tullyally, with 42 built in the second phase and 74 in the third and final round.
Council’s Chief Executive John Kelpie welcomed the news:
“This proposal is an important development that will enhance this area and will contribute positively to the economic development and regeneration of Tullyally, Altnagelvin, Waterside and the city as a whole.”
